Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. She also is the founder of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Her move out of Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the prestigious debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the presidency. She became a syndicated conservative writer following her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online platform for voice which offered critiques of political scenarios. In part, her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna first gained notoriety during 2003 when she volunteered in California's recall vote, replacing then Governor Davis. Alongside that, she also spearheaded an initiative in Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient vehicles. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th spot on this list. The same year, the Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media company in 2011 after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. She was extremely close to her father, but it was her relationship with her mother which formed her. As a child, she showed leadership traits that she still is known for. When she was 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the third and first female to hold the position of president. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
