Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Amy Smart was born and was raised in California, United States of America. Amy Smart began her modeling career in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film which was her first film role. Following a long and difficult battle to get a part, she was offered a role in the 'Starship Troopers' series the film Starship Troopers. It was a hard time for her to make the transition from modeling to acting since models were not considered to be good actors and tended to be given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy was determined to succeed and eventually she was offered bigger roles beginning in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Amy then moved into leading roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years trying. There were several major films within the Crank trilogy with Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character on the Shameless series.
